Nagai Botanical Garden is in the south of Osaka, served by Nagai Station on the Midosuji Line (about 25 minutes from Namba). Right now in summer, Nagai Park is green and full, evenings are warm and humid but comfortable once the sun goes down, and the later sunset pushes entry times back, so check the hours when you book. The heat is the only real tradeoff, and it eases off after dark.

For reference across the year: spring brings cherry blossoms and the mildest evenings, autumn cools things down with changing foliage, and winter strips the trees bare and gets cold. There's no bad time to go. The garden and the installations shift with whatever the season is doing, which is the whole point of this venue.
