We visited The Venetian Macao on a day trip from Hong Kong in February 2025, and teamLab SuperNature was the anchor for the whole day. We had done teamLab Planets in Tokyo, teamLab Borderless in Tokyo, and teamLab at Azabudai Hills -- so walking into SuperNature with that frame of reference was useful. It is bigger than all of them. Not just in floor space but in the sense of vertical scale. The 8-metre ceiling height changes what teamLab can actually build, and they used every centimetre of it.
The Venetian address is surreal -- giant orchids blooming above the casino floor, basically -- but the venue itself is worth taking seriously. Here is everything we know from having been there, updated for 2026 visitors.

Book on KlookGetting there: The Venetian Macao, Cotai Strip
The Venetian Macao is on the Cotai Strip, the land reclamation area between Taipa and Coloane islands. Free shuttle buses run constantly from the Macao Ferry Terminal and the Taipa Ferry Terminal -- this is how we got there from Hong Kong, and it was straightforward. The ferry from the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Hong Kong Port takes about an hour. From central Macao, the Light Rapid Transit Cotai Line runs to The Venetian stop directly.
The Venetian complex is enormous. Allow extra navigation time on your first visit -- teamLab SuperNature is signposted but it's easy to lose 15 minutes getting oriented inside.
What makes SuperNature different: scale and vertical space
We have been to several teamLab venues at this point. Planets Tokyo is intimate and sensory. Borderless is sprawling. SuperNature Macao is the one where the ceiling height actually changes the art. At 8 metres, the works dwarf visitors in a way that smaller venues cannot achieve -- you're not walking through flat rooms, you're moving through a landscape that rises and falls.
The installations we remember most clearly:
- Floating Flower Garden: Flowers and I are of the Same Root, the Garden and I are One -- more than 8,000 living orchids suspended in mid-air that rise and fall around you as you walk through. It is one of the most genuinely beautiful things teamLab has built anywhere. Our kids stopped talking, which is how you know it landed.
- EN TEA HOUSE -- a tea experience where flowers bloom inside your teacup. A quieter, more contemplative moment inside an otherwise overwhelming space. Worth slowing down for.
- Large-scale reactive works spanning the full 8-metre ceiling height, creating environments that shift as more people move through them.
Macao as a day trip from Hong Kong
Most visitors to teamLab SuperNature Macao come from Hong Kong on a day trip or overnight. We did it as a day trip in February 2025 and had plenty of time -- teamLab plus a walk around the Venetian and lunch fills the day comfortably without feeling rushed. The high-speed ferry takes about an hour, and Macao's dual identity as both a UNESCO World Heritage historic district and an entertainment complex makes it a genuinely interesting destination beyond the casino strip.
If you're planning a Hong Kong trip, building in a Macao day anchored around teamLab SuperNature is a solid move. We covered Hong Kong in detail -- our series from the February 2025 trip gives a good feel for the region:
When to visit: timing and crowds
April and the cooler months (November through March) are the most comfortable time to visit Macao. Temperatures sit in the mid-20s Celsius -- warm but not the intense summer heat and humidity of July and August. Chinese national holidays and long weekends bring increased visitor numbers to the Venetian; mid-week visits are noticeably quieter than weekends. Golden Week in Japan (late April to early May) does not affect Macao the same way, but Chinese public holidays do.
Staying connected in Macao
The Venetian has strong wifi throughout, so you won't struggle inside the venue. For getting around Macao and the ferry terminals, Holafly offers a Macao eSIM -- code ADAMANDLINDS saves 5%. If you're combining Macao with Hong Kong (which you should), the Holafly Plans subscription from $49.90/month covers both territories and includes Always On backup data across 76+ destinations.
Frequently asked questions about teamLab SuperNature Macao
Is teamLab SuperNature Macao the biggest teamLab venue?
It is one of the largest by volume, spanning 5,000 square metres with 8-metre-tall installations. The three-dimensional varying-elevation design makes it feel considerably larger than its footprint suggests. We have visited multiple teamLab venues and SuperNature is the most architecturally ambitious.
Is teamLab SuperNature Macao suitable for children?
Yes. We visited with our three kids and the scale impressed all of them immediately. The interactive elements engage all ages. The EN TEA HOUSE experience works better for older children who can sit still for a few minutes -- younger kids will want to keep moving.
How do I get from Hong Kong to teamLab SuperNature Macao?
Take the high-speed ferry from Hong Kong to either Macao Outer Harbour or Taipa Ferry Terminal (approximately 1 hour). Free shuttle buses run from both ferry terminals directly to The Venetian Macao. We used the Taipa Terminal route in February 2025 and it was straightforward.
Do I need to book teamLab SuperNature Macao tickets in advance?
Advance booking via Klook is recommended to guarantee entry and skip the queue at the venue. Use code ADAMANDLINDSKLOOK for the best available price. The no-cancellation policy means you want to be confident in your dates before purchasing.
How long does teamLab SuperNature Macao take?
Allow 90 minutes to 2 hours for the teamLab experience. The scale of the venue means there is genuinely more to explore than at smaller venues -- we did not feel rushed at 90 minutes but could easily have stayed longer.
